Dax McCoy joined KOLO in May 2026 and anchors the 11 pm newscast. You can also see him reporting on the early evening shows.
He departed Texas after four years where he worked to uncover scams and hold businesses accountable when consumers felt they had no other options.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Dax is a proud Cougar of Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication.
He says he found his passion for journalism when he quit being delusional about being in the NFL.
Trading in the pads for a suit, Dax found that not only being behind the mic to call football and basketball games, but also uncovering problems in his community, or anchoring a newscast was something that produced similar thrills as running out of a tunnel under the bright lights.
When he’s not behind the desk, you can find him on the basketball court, on the sticks or
cheering on his favorite teams — including the 2 time world champion Seattle Seahawks.
