Matt Vergara

Matt Vergara is FOX5's Digital Content Reporter and your Las Vegas Social Media Man.

A 2015 Gonzaga University alum, Matt graduated with a degree in Electronic Media and Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Music. From 2015-2017, he was a Multi-Media Journalist in Spokane, WA, where he covered state emergency wildfires, the 2016 presidential campaign, and Spokane's international film festival, SpIFF. His love for laughter brought him to LA, where he pursued a career in entertainment, finishing the Second City Hollywood Improv Program and Conservatory. Here, he honed his storytelling, shaping his voice toward relationships and audience impact. After a brief chapter in Seattle, WA, Matt made his home in Las Vegas in 2024 and has been at FOX5 ever since. His charisma and technical skills allow him to make engaging social pieces that entertain and influence the valley.

Outside of work, Matt continues to pursue improv comedy as a player on Comedy Sportz Las Vegas. He is addicted to golf and is working to improve his 22 handicap. And he LOVES Pho. You can catch him slurping down a big hot bowl of the Vietnamese noodle soup any time of the year.
