Evan Leake
Reporter & Weekend Anchor

Evan Leake joined FOX5 in June 2025 as a reporter and weekend evening anchor.
The Chicago native earned a degree in Communications at Culver-Stockton College before starting his news career in Rockford, Illinois.
Evan grew from a photographer all the way to the morning anchor desk over five years at the NBC in Rockford. From there, he joined LEX 18 in Lexington, Kentucky as an anchor and multimedia journalist.
Evan specialized in feature reporting, highlighting community interest stories across the Bluegrass State, including being the lead feature reporter for the 150th Kentucky Derby.
Beyond that, Evan has covered several severe weather events including historic flooding in Eastern Kentucky 2022 and 2025 as well as several tornadoes that touched down in the Commonwealth.
Evan has been recognized with as an Emmy award-winning reporter for contributions to team coverage highlighting Scott’s Law (Illinois’s Move Over Law) in 2019 along with multiple nominations for his work as a one man band. He also received an Edward R. Murrow award for his coverage of Mullins Miracle, the nationwide effort to build a new home for a Kentucky quadruple amputee.
Away from work, you’ll usually find Evan in the kitchen, at the gym or out exploring the nature across the Las Vegas Valley.
